On Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 March we attended the London Classic Car and Bike Show at Alexandra Palace. Photographs from the event are below, please click on them to see a larger version. Our MotorCycle Curator, Peter Parfitt, can be seen with the Police Le Velocette (aka Noddy bike) resplendent in an old Police uniform! Thanks to Michael Bennett for four of the five photographs. On Sunday 2 April despite ferocious weather conditions, the Mini Day at the Museum organised by the Six-Ex Mini Owners Club was a great success. Many thanks go to Len Young and the Six-Ex Mini Club members for all their efforts. A couple of the Škoda cars that visted are pictured below, please click on the images to see a larger version. On Sunday 30 April CPUK (Club Peugeot UK) and the Simca and Talbot Club UK were very welcome vistoros to the Museum. Some photographs from the day are below, please click on them to see a larger version. On bank holiday Monday 1 May the Swindon Mini Club were very welcome visitors to the Museum. On Sunday 7 May the Rolls-Royce Enthusiasts Club were very welcome vistors to the Museum. Some photographs from the day are below, please click on them to see a larger version. Thanks to Michael Bennett for the majority of these photographs. On the afternoon of Sunday 7 May we welcomed the Classic and Historic Motor Club on their "Back to Basics 4" run. This club has existed since 1977 and provides a great calendar of events for enthusiasts from Somerset, Bristol, Bath, Gloucestershire, Wiltshire, Dorset and Devon who run and preserve any make of car that is more than 30 years old. On Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 May the Museum attended the excellent 21st Steam and Vintage Rally at the Castle Combe race circuit. On Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 May we attended the Beaulieu MotorMart Autojumble that was unfortunatly spoilt by inclement weather. Thanks to Andy, Kevin, John, Chris, Richard H, Richard A and Michael for helping to man the stand. Hope you all dry out soon! On Sunday 21 May we welcomed The Saab Owners Club (GB) to the Museum for their "Saab Lazy Sunday event". Unfortunately as five of the Museum team were at Beaulieu (getting soaked to the skin!) we do not have any photographs of the event. However, we would like to thank Chris Ivory of The Saab Owners Club for his work producing a video clip of this event and allowing us to use it. On Spring Bank Holiday Monday 29 May a number of cars from the Museum along with classic cars belonging to Friends of the Museum attended the Lions Club of Bradford-On-Avon Tenth Annual Fun Day. On Sunday 4 June we welcomed the South West Region of the MR2 Owners Club to the Museum. On Sunday 18 June ten cars and two motorcycles from the Museum attended the fantastic Kemble Air Day. Thanks to the Kemble classic car organiser Keith Bradley for all his assistance. We hope to be back at the Kemble Air Day in 2007! On the evening of Wednesday 21 June the Museum was at the BBC Radio event at theScience Museum in Wroughton. In place of the Heddington Steam Rally that has been cancelled this year, the Friends of the Museum are now holding their Annual Classic Vehicle Show on Sunday 2 July. This year there will be a special Triumph feature. All classic vehicles are very welcome but pre-booking is necessary. On Friday 28, Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 July we welcomed The 1100 Club to the Museum. The cars started to arrive on Saturday morning for the AGM of the Austin 1100 and 1300 club. The Vice Chair of AWMM took some of the members on a 25 mile road run around Avebury and Marlborough pointing out some of the historic sites en'route. They held their AGM in a Marquee within the grounds of the museum and in the evening settled down to a barbecue and jazz band. Sunday afternoon saw the judging of the cars and a leisurely stroll around the motor museum. Cream teas and light refreshments were served in the stable tea room and a barbecue provided hot food for those who wanted it on sunday. Some pictures from the event are below. On the afternoon of Sunday 6 August (please note change of date) we will be welcoming the Classic Corvette Club UK to the Museum for their "2006 Cream Tea Cruise". On Sunday 13 August the Austin Cambridge Westminster Club will be very welcome visitors to the Museum. On Sunday 3 September the Sunbeam Talbot Alpine Register will be very welcome visitors to the Museum. On Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 September we are attending the Beaulieu International Autojumble. On Sunday 1 October we will be welcoming the Cotswold Section of the Alfa Romeo Owners Club to the Museum. On Sunday 22 October we will be welcoming the Bristol Section of the Alfa Romeo Owners Club to the Museum. From Friday 27 to Sunday 29 October the Friends of the Museum plan to be once again exhibiting at the Classic Motor Show at the NEC in Birmingham. This will be without doubt the biggest and best classic car show of 2006. We hope to see you there! On Sunday 26 November we will be welcoming the Hampshire branch of the Volvo Club to the Museum.
