Recently acquired from Mr Geoff Blor of Nottingham is this 350c.c. 1953 Velocette Mac motorcycle:

We are delighted to announce that Chippenham Museum have lent us a Merryweather Horse-Drawn Manual Fire Engine together with details of its operational history and relevant dates. The curator of Chippenham Museum, Mike Stone, is very keen on the vehicle being exhibited and we are lucky to have it for the next two years.

If you are ever in the Chippenham area the Museum in Market Place is well worth a visit. You can find out more about Chippenham Museum here.

 Chippenham Fire Brigade

The last of these pictures shows members of Chippenham Fire Brigade with horse-drawn manual fire engine, ladder escape and other equipment including ladders and fire hook, in front of railway viaduct, New Road, Chippenham. This photograph was taken by Sydney Porter in 1899.
